November 1st, 2024
Dear Beers Street Families,
School is closed from Monday, November 4th through Monday, November 11, for Fall Recess and Veteran's Day. We return to school on Tuesday, November 12th.
Special message for band students from band teacher Mrs. Realmuto:
Our concert is quickly approaching, so it is very important that all instrumentalists bring their instruments to school on lesson days. Every student should know if their lesson is on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Please check the band schedule on the band room bulletin board or in the Google Classroom for your time each week and attend every lesson. Also, please practice your skills and concert music at home. We only have lessons once a week and, after this week off, we only have 4 weeks of practice until our winter concert. You will all make more progress if you practice more in school and at home.
On Wednesday, the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department presented an assembly on the dangers of vaping for our 6th graders.
Please take a moment to nominate one of our Beers Street teachers for the Governor's Educator of the Year award. Here's a link to the Nomination Form. Completed Nomination Forms should be returned to the main office by Friday, November 15th. Thank you!
Picture Re-Take Day is Friday, November 22nd.
Beers Street School PTO membership is $10 per family, but all monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Dues can be paid via Venmo- @BeersStreetPTO. Please include your child's first name, last name, and teacher in the message box. Dues can also be paid by sending in cash or a check. Checks should be made out to "Beers Street PTO."
We encourage staff and students to wear Bulldog green on Fridays for school spirit. You may also purchase spirit wear here. There's a holiday sale from 11/4 - 12/10 with 25% off all merchandise.
When emailing the school nurse about your child's absence, please send the email to bssattendance@hazlet.org. You may also report absences by calling nurse Pat Raphael at (732) 264-1107, ext. 3003.
Enjoy the break!
Sincerely,
Ian Collis
Principal
