Beers Street Elementary School

In art class, 5th graders are immersed in mythologies from around the world. We are finishing up a unit on Egyptian mythology, where we studied their unusual life-after-death beliefs, burial practices, and various gods and goddesses. Students created a mixed-media portrait of a chosen God and embellished the image with hieroglyphs. Next up are gods, goddesses, and monsters from Greek mythology. Students will illustrate a full-figure character, which we will place against a green screen background.
