Dr. Bernard F. Bragen, Jr. first started with the Hazlet Public School District in November 2007.
He became the Chief School Administrator for the district on November 14, 2011.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Superintendent, Dr. Bernard F. Bragen. Jr. is responsible for providing educational leadership by directing the formulation of district-wide goals, plans, policies and budgets, by recommending their approval by the district board of education and by directing their district-wide implementation. He is authorized to recommend all staff appointments and other personnel actions, such as terminations, suspensions and compensation for approval by the district board of education. He is also charged with directing district operations and programs, and supervising and evaluating building administrators and central office staff. His duties also include the overseeing of the administration and supervision of school-level operations, staff and programs.
